Getting started
What ages do you serve?
We provide ABA therapy for children and young adults ages 1–21 across Utah and Maryland.
How fast can we get started?
We verify your insurance benefits within one business day of hearing from you, then move straight into assessment scheduling. Because our clinicians aren't overloaded, we typically start services much faster than the industry's 2–8 week norm.
Does my child need a diagnosis first?
Insurance coverage for ABA requires a formal autism diagnosis. If you don't have one yet, we can point you to evaluation options and you can begin the intake conversation in parallel. See our guide to getting a diagnosis.
What happens after I fill out the form?
A real person from our team contacts you quickly, we run your free benefit check within one business day, a BCBA schedules your child's assessment, and therapy begins in your home on a schedule that works for your family.
Insurance & cost
Do you accept Medicaid?
Yes. In Utah we accept all Utah Medicaid plans (Healthy U, Molina, Health Choice Utah, SelectHealth Community Care) and we accept Maryland Medicaid. For most Medicaid families, ABA comes at little to no out-of-pocket cost.
Which commercial insurance plans do you take?
In Utah: Regence BlueCross BlueShield, Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare/Optum, CHAMPVA, EMI Health, MotivHealth, PEHP, DMBA, Imperial Health, HMHI, University of Utah Health Plans, and more. In Maryland: CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic, UnitedHealthcare/Optum, Aetna, Cigna/Evernorth, Johns Hopkins EHP, GEHA, BCBS Federal Employee Program, and more. We also work with out-of-network benefits.
What does a benefit check involve?
You share your insurance details (with your consent), and our team contacts your insurer directly to confirm your child's ABA coverage, expected costs, and authorization requirements. It is free, takes one business day, and happens before you fill out any intake paperwork.
Do you take SelectHealth?
We are not in network with commercial SelectHealth plans, but we do accept SelectHealth Community Care, their Medicaid plan. Unsure which you have? Send it over and we'll figure it out during your benefit check.
How therapy works
Where do sessions take place?
In your home. In-home ABA lets children learn skills in the environment where they'll actually use them: mealtimes, transitions, bedtime. Family is involved every step of the way.
How many hours per week will my child need?
It depends on your child's needs. Programs commonly range from about 12 to 35+ hours per week. Your BCBA recommends a level after a comprehensive assessment, and our free preview tool can give you a rough estimate in minutes.
Who will actually work with my child?
A consistent team: a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) delivers most sessions, and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) designs the program and stays involved weekly, not every other week, for every single client.
Will I know what's happening in sessions?
Always. Progress is tracked with data at every session, your BCBA communicates with you regularly, and parent training is built into every program so you can carry gains into daily life.
Why does therapist consistency matter so much?
Children with autism build skills fastest with people they trust, and every therapist change resets that trust. The ABA industry averages 30–50% annual staff turnover; our whole model of small caseloads and no quotas exists to keep your child's team stable.
About Golden Touch
What areas do you serve?
All of Utah, with a focus on the Wasatch Front (Salt Lake, Utah, Davis, and Weber counties), and all of Maryland.
What makes Golden Touch different from other ABA providers?
Three structural differences: our BCBAs average ~10 clients instead of the industry's 15–20+, we have zero billable-hour quotas, and every child gets weekly BCBA involvement. Supported clinicians stay, and consistent care is what drives real outcomes.
Are you hiring?
Yes. We hire BCBAs, RBTs, and BAITs in Utah and Maryland. See our careers page or email careers@goldentouchaba.com.
